Hi guys! well you know how I mentioned I like to collect shows with little stories behind them , or shows that stand out in some way. For instance, the Harley show, Brent's meltdown, things like that. Can you come up with a few? thanks.

Not really a story, but theres a decent aud recording here from 12/15/86 which was his first show after the coma. Opens with touch of grey and the crowd roars, same with Candyman, when the Candymans in town. These are the occaisions where the aud tapes do the shows justice.

Buffalo 7/4/86- Sunny ay for the most part- THe GD opening for Tom Petty and Dylan- Scarlet rolls into fire and wouldn't you know, it starts to drizzle- fire has to be put out, right? The rain drifts away with the ending notes of the song, not to appear again.

Rutgers 81- same song- Rutgers Gym has glass rough- thunderstorm rolling in- bolts of lightening are seen through the ceiling during the Fire on the Mountain- too cool.

The combined outburst of sorrow and joy when the first He's Gone after Brent's death was played- my own story with that is- the day I heard of Brent's passing I got my mail order back- the only first row seats I ever scored-

6 inches of snow on 4/6/82- pretty late in Philly for that- and the spectrum rocked that night with of course the show starting off with Cold Rain and Snow

Thanks liam for confirming the Buffalo 86 weather report. Some smart ass on the review section tried to tell me it didn't rain all day in Buffalo and that petty and Dylan opened the show.

Try the first night in Hartford 88. Another night where jer's voice was shot. Supposedly he slams the mic down during Black peter. Also, this may be what the guy is looking for....Greek 84 they play dark star as an encore because of a lunar eclipse and the same for the Louisville KY show in 90. It's still daytime and the moon is out so the boys opt for a SOTM pre drums. This can be seen as filler on one of the vault DVD releases

There is also a show that gets mentioned a lot by a bunch of posters that supposedly has Weir climbing the up the speakers during Sugar mag. Someone might have the date on that

9/7/85, afternoon at Red Rocks. Ready to rock, the band is onstage, Jerry steps up to the mic, and none of his equipment is working! A few moments of confusion, then Bobby starts the "Frozen Logger Song". Mickey and Bill are off the drums, singing harmony(?) and playing some percussion. Everyone laughs, Parrish got Jerry's gear working and it went on to be a pretty good show as I recall! It's being seeded at bt.etree right now, haven't had a chance to listen yet, but it is a mcCue aud so it should be good. Here's the link

10/31/91 - KESEY rap, eulogy to Bill Graham. VERY powerful, if it doesn't give you chills then you don't have feelings. High Flow will tell you, he was there ( lucky bastard )

78 show where supposedly the whole band was on pharmeceutical mescaline. Don't know the date but I know someone here will.

2 Jerry laryngitis shows where it's all Weirs songs which supposedly ( haven't heard them ) makes it interesting because Jerry focuses ALL his energy on his axe. Again 78 but don't know the date off the top of my head.

ESP experiment shows - Capitol Theatre Feb 71

RAVEN Space show - 83 I think? Was it? Forgot

lots more but I'll give all these other poor slobs a chance to excercise their brain cells : )

Raven Space was 82 Baltimore. I was there and it was chaos! Yes, DancinBears get that show if you don't already have it. The whole show is actually really good with great versions of all songs. First set starts with Women R Smarter so you should like that.

Because of all those posts and stuff and everything.

Springfield 5-11-78 is the one referred to as the mescaline show. Some of Wier's singing antics are pretty bizarre, to the point he cracks Donna up at one point--you can clearly hear her laugh at Bob on every tape I have ever heard of it. I think during Dancin. Rest of the music is pretty good from the show, too. SOme pretty interesting guitar work, even if the vocals were a bit off at times.

Hey DancinBears, how's your new job?

Boreal Ridge is always known as "The worst Dead Show Ever".

I was there.
